Nathan Olsen
is a self-taught photographer living in Oak Park, IL. Landscapes are a prominent focus in his work, his goal to build small worlds to illustrate the contemplation of attention, presence, and memory, and their roles in forming a sense of identity. Nathan’s practice has been shaped by migrant work and continued visits to his grandmother's hometown in Mexico.

His ongoing project, Touchstone, approaches the practical challenge of connecting with distant relatives through common ones, using land passed down through generations — a shared aspect of different cultures — as a place of convergence.
